Nature lover? Than this one is for you.
The Lake Pergusa, located along the main Palearctic route, is one of the most important wetland staging areas and wintering grounds for many migratory species.
Known since antiquity as the site of the legendary Rape of Proserpina sculpture, along its banks we can do bird watching and appreciate the impressive tectonic subsidence phenomenon from which the depression area drains originated and where the water from the lake flows. The vegetation, in fragmites and rushes, makes for a particularly fascinating walk that at times gives you the impression to dive into the vast and dense reeds.
You can easily link this excursion with other trips during the same day, eg. Cozzo Matrice, Floristella or Monte Cannarella.
